My Philosophy

My philosophy is simple. I believe that all women should have access to informational support and evidence based education. I want to help you know the information you need to make the best choices for you!

Hello and welcome!

My name is Jennifer and I am so glad you are here! I am first and foremost the mother of five beautiful children that range in ages from mid-20's to elementary school. My parenting journey has been full of ups and downs, but along the way, I ran into some health issues that piqued my interest in learning more about complimentary medicine. In my journey, I have earned my Masters Degree in Complimentary Alternative Medicine, obtained certification and work as a Clinical Aromatherapist, developed a natural based cleaning business, and worked as both a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I have been working in these fields for close to 10 years and have earned certification through the state of Pennsylvania as a Certified Perinatal Doula in addition to being a Certified Postpartum Doula. I have worked both independently and within organizations, including a hospital-based doula program. This has allowed me to serve many women and families throughout my years and has also allowed me to hone in on my support skills for women in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. This journey has also allowed me the opportunity to help guide and educate many with holistic alternatives safely surrounding the use of essential oils throughout the four trimesters.

Apart from the information above, many people ask me why I became a doula. I love telling my story but won't put it all here (I could go on and on!). I will try to sum it up quickly for you though. In the doula world, we often say that this work is based on many of our personal experiences and is a calling. My birth and postpartum stories definitely support this thought and saying. I've experienced first-hand, with my last baby (#5!), how important it is to have access to information and to have support. I had my husband by my side for 30 days in the postpartum period as I recovered from delivery and was able to spend this time bonding with my baby and healing. It was completely different than my recovery in my four prior deliveries. My physical healing was quicker, I was more rested, I did not suffer from postpartum depression, and I was happier overall. It was then that it really hit me, I wanted everyone seeking support to have the option to have it. IIn short, this is what led me on this beautiful life.  I believe that everyone should have support to be able to live their best life and have the opportunity that I had, and I am grateful to be someone to offer this support~ through pregnancy, labor and delivery, or the postpartum period (or all 3!).
